Since 1956 Adi unites planners, enterprises, researchers, teachers, critics, and journalists around the design topics: plan, consumption, recycling and formation. Its scope is to promote and contribute to create the appropriate conditions for planning amenities and services, through cultural debate, contacting the institutions, and supplying services. For ADI design is culturally aware planning. It is the interface between the individuals' needs and the producers' offer.

It takes part in the design of products, services, visual communication, packaging, interiors, and outdoor spaces.

Design is a system that creates a relationship between users and producers. It is meant to engineer innovation, to provide functionality and add social value to the assets and the services distributed on the market.
