PIER GIACOMO CASTIGLIONI
(1913-1968)

Pier Giacomo Castiglioni was an Italian architect,
interior architect and designer.
He was born in 1913 in Milan.
He studied architecture at the Politecnico in Milan until
1937, then he first worked with his brother Livio from 1938
to 1940 and after the war mostly with his brother Achille.
They worked mainly on lighting but also on furniture,
home appliances, plastics, exhibitions and architecture. They
both received 'Compasso d'Oro' awards and many other prices
(for example gold medal of the Triennale in Milan in 1957
and 1960).
He died in 1968 in Milan.
